Nesting Bowls
These nesting bowls contain 44 wodden eggs turned from several species: Juniper, Sumac, Hawthorne, Diamond willow, Pussy willow, Honey locust, Juniper, Yew, Spalted apple, Spalted maple, Ponderosa pine, Larch, Black walnut, Curly maple, Birdseye maple, Cherry, Elm, Larch (ant eaten), Box elder, Rose root, Spruce, Douglas fir, Red cedar, Cocobolo, Redwood, Ebony, Apricot, Spanish olive wood, York gum burl, Sycamore, Black Cherry, Boxwood, Lilac, Microlam, Myrtle wood, Padauk, Black gum burl, Persian walnut, Sabah ebony, Pink ivory, Lignum vitae, Yellow cedar (toredo worm eaten).
The inner bowl containing the wooden eggs was turned from Yellow Cedar from Vancouver Island with an African Blackwood spire for decoration and ease of lifting. The outer bowl was turned from poplar and spray painted with ivory and Viper red automotive paint then polished to a gloss finish.
